JSPWiki v2.0.52

Difference between version 12 and version 8:
Lines 9-12 were replaced by line 9
- * make the seal with clean fingers (a thick layer on the stick,
- only a small amount inside the aluminium tube). __New:__ when using
- the CAF seal (borrowed from muSR people, U.Zimmermann), put nothing
- inside the aluminium tube
+ * make the CAF seal (red silicon paste) with clean fingers
Lines 16-27 were replaced by lines 13-15
- * put into LN2 for precooling, put a small amount of He (1 mbar or
- less) into the IVC.
- * if there is no hurry and the sample must be cooled slowly,
- the stick might be put directly into the cryostat (without LN2 precooling).
-
- * cool down the heat exchanger of the variox or magnet (setpoint 5 K)
- * pump the IVC (15 min. with sorb temperature set to 40 K,
- then 1 h without sorb heater)
- * test if the temperature of the mixing chamber is no longer coupled
- to the heat exchanger (changing the setpoint to 6 or 7 K).
-
- * if not yet done, take the special assembly to connect the pumping
+ * put the stick into the Variox or magnet VTI.
+ * insert about 50 mbar 4He into the IVC
+ * take the special assembly to connect the pumping
Line 29 was replaced by lines 17-27
- * pump out the adapter piece for 15 min
+ * pump out the adapter piece
+ * connect a turbo pump to the IVC, start te pump, but do not yet open the IVC valve.
+
+ The following steps can be done automatically in SEA, under "main diltuion control"
+
+ * ("cool") cool down the heat exchanger of the variox or magnet
+ * When the stick is cold (< 4K, ins SEA "readyforpump") pump the IVC by clicking on "sorbpump" and opening
+ the IVC valve, which is already connected to a running turbo pump.
+ This heats up the VTI to 5 K, which might take a while. After 20 min. with sorb temperature set to 40 K,
+ then 15 min without sorb heater, the "condense" step starts automatically.
