ILL4 is a cryostat has a special, low-background sample chamber used uniquely on FOCUS. There is an appartus for automatic liquid helium fill for it.

Pending Issues

  • There must be an large thermal leak, which gets more and more important while running it over days. The consumption is much too high and the minimum temperature can no longer be reached
