ILL4 is a cryostat has a special, low-background sample chamber used uniquely on FOCUS. There is an appartus for automatic liquid helium fill for it.

sample tube diameter down to heat exchanger (at 825 mm cold): 70.5mm

sample space diameter 68.5 +- 1 mm

Solved Issues

  • There was a large leak on the special vacuum tank on FOCUS.
