Instructions for sample mounting

For the cryostats and magnets, we have a standard for sample mounting: An M6 thread (hole) on the sample stick or cold finger, with a distance (a) of at least 35 mm to the beam center and a possible extension below the beam center (b) of 45 mm. The maximal diameter (d) is mostly higher than 45 mm. These values are listed in the device tables.

If your sample fits this standard, it can easily be mounted in our devices. However, we have some devices with an M20 thread and a distance (a) of 50 mm. Adapter pieces exist to fit the M6 standard, and to compensate the length difference.
