2 Electrical Wiring

2.1 Cryostat Wiring

Symmetric Energisation (8/9 Tesla)

Coaxial current lead terminal on tall cryostat services neck (this neck also features the VTI needle valve):
  • Inner terminal post I+ (start of entire magnet, internal red wire)
  • Outer terminal post I- (end of entire magnet, internal black wire)

Asymmetric Energisation (4 Tesla)

Co-axial current lead terminal on short cryostat services neck (this neck also features the syphon entry port):
  • Inner terminal post I+ (start of selected coils, internal blue wire)
  • Outer terminal post I+ (end of selected coils, internal brown wire)

Connections to persistent mode switch heaters

Ten pin connector on services neck with syphon entry: MA09WiringManual/SwitchHeaterPlug.gif

Connections to carbon resistors for monitoring lambda point refrigerator

Ten pin connector on services neck with lambda point refrigerator needle valve and pumping line: MA09WiringManual/AllenBradleyPlug.gif
