NeXus'2001 Workshop

This is the first public workshop to discuss the NeXus data format. It is intended for all potential users of the NeXus format, such as those involved in the design, development, or general use of :

Although the API is now fully functional, and it is relatively easy to read and write NeXus data files, the contents of those files are not defined in sufficient detail. One of the objects of the workshop is to reach agreement on the required contents of files in a number of instrument categories, in order to make it easier to write portable analysis and visualization software. Examples of such categories are :

If you are interested in participating in the preparation of these standards before the workshop, please let us know in the comments section of the registration form below, stating what instruments you are interested in. Use the same section to express an interest in making a presentation or demonstrating some software using NeXus.

N.B. This workshop will directly precede the annual general meeting of the SCANS collaboration from March 22-23 because of the possible overlap in those interested in attending both.

There is no registration fee for attending this workshop but, if you intend to participate, we request that you fill in the following form as soon as possible so that we can estimate the numbers attending. If you cannot make a firm commitment at this stage, please update your status using this form when you can. The recommended accommodation will be in the PSI Guest House. Please note that the single and double rooms come with shower and WC on the same floor, but not in the room unless otherwise stated.

The guesthouse is on site and is difficult to reach by public transport after hours. During working hours, there is an hourly bus service from both Brugg and Unter-Siggenthal railway stations. Otherwise, take a taxi from Brugg to PSI (6km) or a bus to Villigen and make a 20 minute walk.
