Comparison of the test at PSI at 20 May 05 (left) with the test result at ILL (right, different time scale). For PSI, the same channel as at ILL is shown (RhFe Sensor).

Conclusions from the Test

  • The stability is comparable to the results at the ILL (Feb 2003). It is about +- 0.1 K below 4 K, an better than +- 0.05 K above.
  • Control on the cold valve is delicate, but possible. After cool down it takes some time (2 hours) until a stable control on the cold valve controller is possible.
  • Further tests on TriCS with cradle moving are needed. It has to be proven that the test results can be reproduced on the instrument.
