Apart from the upgrades of the experimental stations at the Doris beamlines, computing at Hasylab prepares for supporting our new projects: the VUV-FEL and Petra-3. The VUV-FEL (5 end stations) will be operational by the mid of 2005. The talk of Teresa Nunez at this conference will give some details about the specific problems that are encountered when VUV experiments are performed at a free electron laser. Although Petra-3 will not deliver photons to the users before the year 2009, some preparatory work in the IT sector has already started. One of the issues that are addressed so far is user administration. Desy is currently investigating whether the ESRF tool SMIS can be effeciently employed at Hasylab. Another point of interest is the computing model for the experimental stations. This includes online applications and the way how the users will be supported by central IT services.Abstract File: abstract00073.txt
